For those with a thirst for culture, a visit to D’Alt Vila, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999, is a must! Art lovers will adore Ibiza’s Museum of Contemporary Art, which features and international contemporary art. If an ancient burial ground dating from Phoenician times appeals, visit the Necròpolis del Puig des Molins. Here you can peer into the north-south oriented burial caverns cut deep into the hill and descend into one interlocking series of these hypogea (burial caverns).

Refuel from a night in one of Ibiza’s famous clubs, or simply start your relaxing day with an ensaimada, a Balearic croissant filled with cream, chocolate, sweet pumpkin (Angel's Hair) or simply dusted with icing sugar. In addition to the delicious range of tapas, freshly caught seafood, fish and guisado (a rich, slow cooked soup), you mustb tsample the flao (a local cheesecake filled with herbs and honey). Still after another ensaimada? Then order a greixonera, a delicious pudding made from these Balearic croissants.

Shopping for the 'retail therapy weekend break'

The nighttime shopping in the old town of Ibiza will certainly appeal to serial shoppers on their luxury short or weekend break in Ibiza! Shops are open until after midnight, selling an extraordinary selection of the wildest and trendiest fashions. For something a little less ordinary, venture to La Calle de la Virgin – but bear in mind these shops are not for the faint hearted! If you are looking to pick up a bargain, various hippy markets sell jewelry, wraps, shawls and accessories to name a few.
