Barbados Holidays

Barbados Holidays
Map of Barbados St James Christchurch

An all-time favourite with British visitors, Barbados holidays are also a perfect introduction to the region for first timers. Barbados is the Caribbean at its stylish and sophisticated best, it has all the coral sand beaches and laid-back charms of the other islands, but cricket, opera, polo and the races have become society events. Barbados holidays are highly recommended for all ages, as there's plenty of action beyond the usual watersports, with hiking and golf to enjoy and gardens and historic plantation houses to explore.

Points of Interest in Barbados

Visit Barbados' bustling capital, Bridgetown, and statues of the island's national icons in National Heroes Square. Climb spectacular Mount Hillaby for fantastic views of the island. Natural delights in Barbados include the tropical beauty of Welchman Hall Gully and Andromeda Botanic Gardens. There is also the chance to visit the factory where Bajans make Mount Gay® Rum, the oldest rum in the world!

Getting Around Barbados: Only 21 miles long and 14 miles wide, getting around is easy, either by hired car or by local bus.

Events in Barbados: The Crop Over Festival celebrates the end of the sugar cane harvest, which is five weeks in July/August. Barbados Jazz Festival is in January.
