Megali Amos, together with neighbouring Vassilias beach, forms a 2 kilometre stretch of long sandy beach lined with many tavernas and bars. The beach stays protected from the strong north winds by the land which rises steeply into the hillside beyond the road. Megali Amos is very popular during the day due to its proximity to Skiathos town and it offers great variety of watersports, including waterskiing and diving as well as horse riding and tennis. Evenings can be spent in the nearby Skiathos town centre, only a short walk away, with its shops, galleries and exciting night-life.
