Oman Events: Ramadan - Oman is a Muslim country and observes the tradition of fasting during daylight hours for the whole of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Alcohol is not served in hotel restaurants or bars during this time. Non Muslims may consume alcohol from the mini-bars in their rooms. As a sign of respect visitors are asked to refrain from eating, drinking and smoking in public places during the day. Visiting Oman during the Holy Month of Ramadan is considered by many to be a great time to experience the best of Arabian culture and its values.
