Gold Holiday Frequently Asked Questions 

Q. We have the opportunity to holiday for nine days, but we can only see availability for one or two week breaks. Can you be flexible?

A. At Sovereign we work with British Airways and other leading scheduled airlines to give you the flexibility to tailor the duration of your holiday. Please call our experienced Travel Centre Advisers on 08703 661634 and they will assist you.

Q. We don't live near London but would like to take a short break using British Airways. Can we still do this?

A. Whilst the majority of scheduled flights available depart from London or Manchester, regional add-ons are available from a range of regional airports with your luggage checked through to your final destination to minimise inconvenience. To check routes and availability, simply call our Specialist Travel Advisers.

Q. I would like to combine a stay at more than one destination, spending several nights in each place. Is this possible?

A. Our aim at Sovereign is to be as flexible and accommodating as we can. Why not combine the beautiful islands of Crete and Santorini, or maybe a few days at a rural hotel in Majorca, followed by a relaxing spa break at another. Q. We are celebrating our wedding anniversary and would like to get our holiday off to a really great start. What do you recommend?

A. Take a look at Club Europe upgrades with British Airways that entitle you to a host of pre-departure and on-board privileges to really make your holiday special, such as a designated check-in area, an increased luggage allowance of 30kg, and lounge access in selected UK airports. On board enjoy a leather armchair with a 34" seat pitch, dedicated cabin crew and specially selected and prepared on-board meals. Q. We would like to arrange to dine half board at our hotel, but are we still able to take advantage of all of the restaurants available?

A. Many of our Gold Collection hotels have a range of delightful restaurants offering buffet, table d'hote or a la carte menus, and those that are available to half board guests vary from hotel to hotel. Use the Dining Guide within the hotel description to see which restaurants are available to you on a half board basis. Some restaurants may be available at a supplement to your half board, whilst others may provide you with a credit from your half board.

Q. I am looking for a relaxing break; will I have to dress for dinner every evening?

A. Dress codes vary depending on your chosen hotel. While some of the hotels we feature are luxurious in a more formal way, and expect gentlemen to wear trousers and a jacket for dinner, others emphasise 'bare foot' luxury. Use the search facility as a guide to dining at Gold Collection hotels.

Q. We are travelling with our four-year old, but have heard that gold hotels may not welcome children. Is this the case?

A. Many gold hotels are now adapting their facilities to welcome younger guests, and some provide excellent childcare with nurseries and playgrounds. Search for "family friendly" hotels using the interactive search facility as a guide to which hotels will be most suitable for your needs.

Q. I am a keen golfer and would like to stay within easy reach of a golf course. How can I quickly find a hotel that will suit me?

A. Many of the Gold Collection hotels are within 30 minutes of some of the world's top golf courses, whilst some have golf courses on-site. Search for 'Golf' using the interactive search facility to quickly identify hotels with a course nearby.
