I would recommend adding a private tour to the beginning or end of your stay. There's so much to see in Sri Lanka, but transfers can be quite long from the beach hotels. Private tours are a great way to see the highlights and you'll see so much local life as you drive through villages en route.

You are in for an exotic treat in Mauritius. Dishes come with a variety of Creole, Chinese, French and Indian influences. Being an island, the seafood is, of course, to die for. Creole curries are popular as are spicy, Indian-inspired curries; just ask for an extra dollop of sour cream with them if you prefer to cool things down. To wash it all down, Mauritian rum is right for the job! You can find it in all sorts of delicious flavours, including vanilla and cinnamon.
