Royal River Luxury Hotel

Wow, what an ama big hotel. Top class, in service, rooms, food and decor. So relaxing with a river to each of the villas. The roof top terrace is out of this world in terms of views, service and ambience. The room is huge, with a seating area, bedroom and walk in closet. Outside is a personal terrace and plunge pool. I would certainly recommend the hotel. High end in everything it stands for

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Royal River. We had seen the photos on Tripadvisor prior to our arrival, so we had high expectations. We loved the décor and the abundance of plants around the hotel and grounds. Our two bedroom river villa was incredibly tranquil and we all had the best nights’ sleep. The blackout blinds / curtains are so effective and the beds super comfortable. We travelled as a family of two adults and two older teens (19 and 17). The villa was so well set up for us, with the children in twin beds upstairs with their own bathroom. We were on the ground floor and there was plenty of space, with a living / dining area and a good size terrace with small pool leading to the ‘river’. We had buffet breakfast every day. The food quality was great – pastries, yoghurts, fruit, smoked salmon, bacon, egg etc. Coffee was to order and tasted great. Each Sunday the hotel has a violinist playing during breakfast, which was a nice touch. We had lunch either in the villa as room service – do have the floating brunch - or in the restaurant. The food was consistently good and there was a decent variety of options. We also ate at Top Restaurant twice during our stay and felt so well looked after by the hotel. The view over Costa Adeje was stunning. We wish we’d eaten in the other restaurants, and will definitely do this next time. We decided to hire a car so that we could explore more of the island. We did two treks – one to some lava fields about an hour from the hotel and the other to a cliff edge walk in the north. It’s much less touristy there, and the views are stunning, but the drive is not for the fainthearted (windy and narrow roads). The hotel organised for us to go out in their boat and we saw families of pilot whales. This was a breathtaking experience and we all felt so priviledged to have this opportunity. The hotel has a gym, which whilst small, never felt busy. We were advised to pre-book our slot and were told that they allowed a maximum of 6 in the spa area at any time. However, there was never more than 1-2 people in the gym even though the hotel was at maximum capacity. There is the normal gym equipment (two running machines, a bike, various weight training machines and a good selection of weights – all Technogym). There is also a really impressive paddle court in a different part of the hotel. We kept meaning to use it, but never did…. One of the best things about this hotel is the staff, particularly Daniela. She was so helpful before our arrival and also during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and she is clearly amazing at her job, spending time talking to the guests and ensuring that everyone was having a good holiday. In fact, every staff member we encountered was so helpful, kind and cheerful. I think it’s rare to find a hotel like this in Europe, and we are already planning a return trip next year. Wow, wow wow This place is amazing, so amazing I don’t actually want to review it as I don’t want people to go so there is always availability for me. 😁😁😁 The staff from check-in to check out were absolutely amazing. Staff were always attentive always welcoming and could not do enough for you. They wanted you to have a good time. Big shout out to Daniella and her full team who made sure you were well looked after and they attended to your every need. While we were there, I posted pictures and a video on Facebook and one of my friends has actually booked to come to fab hotel. I returned home on Friday. it is now Monday and I have already booked to return. My husband and I stayed in a lagoon villa. An absolutely beautiful room with a more beautiful view and pool. The food in the Top restaurant was beautiful and that view - wow!!! Breakfast just fabulous!!! This is an all-round, amazing hotel with a beautiful pool and spa. Well worth a visit.
