Mystique, a Luxury Collection Hotel

HORRIFIC .. . TOXIC chemical reaction, improperly maintained hot tub that resulted in bodily injuries to 3 children. The fundamental rights of hotel guests cover various crucial areas such as a clean and secure environment, privacy, and fair treatment. Unfortunately, our experience at Mystique in Greece fell short in prioritizing our safety and delivering on what was promised. It was evident that their concern for our well-being was lacking, and the discrepancy between what was advertised and what we received was starkly evident. Each child suffered allergic reactions (see attached photo) from the chemicals used in the hot tub that was on our balcony. The manager admitted to the fact that the scent was so strong that we could not even stand 8 feet from the hot tub and discuss the situation. Unfortunately we were unaware that the children had used the hot tub initially, as they are great swimmers and jumped right in. They were not able to stay in but a few minutes b/c the toxic smell that immediately made them feel ill. We provided evidence of a brand new swimsuit that had been damaged due to the chemical reaction, one that occurs with direct contact with chlorine. However, the constant narrative that they only use chemicals that are allowed. Misuse of chemicals, unawareness of how to use chemicals and/or inappropriate amounts can create a level of toxicity that is not safe. The plastic cover on the hot tub created the perfect environment for the chemical reaction, given the hot weather and improper chemicals and/or amounts of each chemical. We asked to have the chemicals tested in front of us, to which we were denied. ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE SKIN ISSUES OR PROPERTY DAMAGE THAT RESULT FROM THEIR NEGLIGENCE. We paid over $15,000 for our 4 night stay and almost 500,000 Marriott points which are valued at about $4000 USD. This was the most horrific experience at any property we have ever utilized. What was supposed to be a once and a lifetime trip, and an anniversary celebration turned into a nightmare. They offered us 10,000 points which = $30 US which was highly insulting to say the least.

Wow, what an absolute dream our elopement at Mystique in Oia was! Dimitra, our amazing wedding planner, made it all happen seamlessly. We're based in California, but Dimitra made the distance a non-issue with her super quick responses and top-notch communication skills. Her expertise was invaluable as she guided us through flower, decor, cake options, and more, ensuring our vision was flawlessly brought to life. It all turned out exactly as we'd hoped! Dimitra's calming attitude made our special day stress-free, allowing us to truly savor every moment. Her attention to detail and thoughtful suggestions ensured that everything exceeded our expectations. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. And let's talk about Mystique! The Agean Balcony where we said "I do" was straight out of a postcard—so picturesque and a venue that epitomizes the romance of Santorini. The hotel staff treated us like royalty, from our stay to our wedding night dinner. Their genuine warmth made the whole experience even more incredible. Huge thanks to Dimitra and the entire Mystique team for giving us a wedding day beyond our wildest dreams!!

Our five nights at Mystique were an absolute dream come true! We were lucky to get the air of mystery villa which truly has views that will soothe the soul. We had a hard time leaving the views to want to do anything else on the island. Breakfast delivery to our veranda was a huge bonus and unforgettable. October is a great time to visit Santorini. Less crowded and better weather. Thank you Mystique for making dreams come true and magical memories of a lifetime.
