Meet our Holiday Expert Louise
I have worked for Sovereign for five years and have vast travel industry experience as I also previously worked in business travel and as a retail travel agent. I have a huge passion for travel and have travelled to many destinations with Sovereign such as Dubai, Madeira and most recently Mauritius. I enjoy sharing my travel experience with my seven-year-old son by taking him away as much as possible. A favourite place for us both is Portugal as it has so much for holiday makers of all ages to enjoy from long stretches of relaxing sandy beaches to some Europe's biggest water parks.

Most Memorable Travel Experience
My most memorable travel experience was the first time I visited Mauritius and fell in love with it. The island is fantastic, with a mixture of cuisines, white-sand beaches, and some of the best hotels I have ever been lucky enough to visit. The best bit? The island is surrounded by a colourful reef offering some of the best snorkelling opportunities.
Most Unusual Travel Moment
My most unusual travel moment was a jeep safari to one of the highest points in Madeira. If the drive up there wasn't breathtaking enough, as we reached the top we were above the clouds. The views were spectacular and it is a moment I will never forget.
Favourite Hidden Gem
The Rubicon Marina in Playa Blanca is lined with dreamy yachts and boats and is a fantastic place to dine. The Marina boasts lovely al fresco, waterside restaurants. Thanks to its location, you will find some of the best seafood in Playa Blanca here.
My best meal was when I dined at the Kampai restaurant at the Princesa yaiza, Lanzarote. It is a Japanese tepenyaki restaurant where you get to see all the food being prepared and cooked in front of you. It is a great social environment and guests who pre book the deluxe half board package at the Princesa Yaiza can dine here for no extra cost.
Top Travel Tip
Portugal is one of my favourite destinations because there is so much to see and do away from the main tourist hot spots such as untouched beaches, traditional villages and vineyards. The best way to get about is to hire a car. It easy to drive around Portugal as everything is well connected and sign posted. You can pre book a car before travel or through your concierge when you arrive.
Favourite Sovereign Hotel
We do many hotels which I find hard to choose an outright winner but a strong candidate is The Jumeirah Port Soller hotel in Majorca. It is located in the unspoilt North West side of Majorca and has incredible views from its elevated position above the harbour town of Port Soller. It is a very stylish property with modern furnishings. Perfect for couples who want something unique and special.
