My very first job after leaving school in 1984 was in travel, and I have had the bug ever since. I have been lucky to work in Greece, France, Italy and the USA but love being back home in the UK, sharing my knowledge and passion for anything travel with my team.
I call myself a frustrated chef, and love experimenting and re-creating recipes from all the places I have been to on holiday and when I lived overseas. The best food culture I experienced was in Mauritius, where you could literally taste anything from anywhere in the world. Fortunately, my family love trying anything new and always give me honest feedback and a score out of 10 each time – even posting some of my creations on Instagram for me!

Most memorable travel experience
Being part of a crewed yacht team, sailing and island hopping around Greece. Fabulous experience with so many laughs and a lifetime of unforgettable memories.
Muscat in Oman. Unlike some of the places in this part of the world, Muscat offers so much stunning landscape and history, dating back hundreds of centuries. I love the glorious architecture in a captivating exotic spot on the Gulf of Oman, with mountains and desert in the background and dazzling beaches close by. This city is definitely where old meets new, from traditional souks and museums to modern shopping, but all without the high rise you would expect. Everything and everyone is laid back. A top tip is to search and find your favourite exquisite ornamental door in the maze of streets and capture on photo. I arranged a collage of the different doors when I got home as a unique memory.
Favourite Sovereign hotel
I was very lucky to stay at the Daios Cove Luxury Resort and Villas in Crete in a 2 bedroom Wellness Villa. Not only did we have our own heated private pool, we also had a massive round bathtub, running machine and sauna. The villa was huge and on two floors with breath-taking views of the cove which you could reveal using the electric panel whilst lying in a very comfy Cocomat bed. We made full use of the Premium All-Inclusive by having a sensational and delicious hot breakfast delivered to our room as a treat one morning, before enjoying the fabulous sun right outside our own door. Pure relaxing bliss!
Top travel tip
I always pre-book my seats on the plane before I travel so I feel relaxed and stress-free right from the very start of my holiday.
Favourite hidden gem
Casale Panayiotis in the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus. Your chance to experience true Cypriot culture and hospitality whilst staying in lovely restored traditional houses. Their belief is to share their beautiful tucked-away scenic village location with visitors, so everyone can enjoy the spectacular views and locally produced food (plus a wide range of wines all sourced within 60 miles of the mountain). I loved it!
I love watching cricket and tennis, so my absolute dream would be to go to Australia. Starting off by spending Christmas on the beach, Boxing Day at the MCG and following The Ashes tour around the country before returning back to Melbourne for the Australian Open. All I need to do is persuade my boss to let me have six weeks off work!
