My family originate from Mauritius so I am biased in saying it is an all-time favourite destination of mine, with its crystal clear waters and golden sandy beaches it makes for the perfect retreat for some rest and relaxation.Travel is in my opinion vital for the soul; the cultural experiences, the trying of new cuisines, learning a new language all enrich my life greatly. Exploring Thailand and India have created some great memories for me and honeymooning in Kruger national Park, Africa, on Safari twinned with Mauritius was just magical. Having had a successful 13 year career in the media industry I have changed paths upon joining Sovereign to balance a young family lifestyle with a job I can genuinely be passionate about.

Most memorable travel experience
My most memorable holiday would have to be staying at the Heritage Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort as part of our honeymoon in Mauritius. The hotel with its colonial style architecture is absolutely pristine and perfect. The gardens are immaculate and all of this finesse and luxury is complimented by the natural sea-breeze, sounds of the waves and the beautiful aromas from the tropical flowers and herbs planted all help to make one feel totally at home and utterly relaxed.
Favourite hidden gem
Why not explore the island of Mauritius further by heading to the bustling markets of Port Louis that will invigorate the senses, or visit the Pamplemousess Gardens, our equivalent of Royal Kew Gardens. Perhaps if culture is more your style take a respectful trip to one of the many Hindu temples on the island where you will be most welcome.
The BBQ's at Blue Waters in Antigua are a foodies heaven, succulent chicken in a Caribbean spice-rub grilled to perfection, some sweet pork ribs, steaks and seafood galore all on offer! Accompanied with fresh, vibrant salads and a cold glass of Rose...Heaven!!!
Top travel tip
Allow plenty of travel time to the airport to make the most of our complementary Sovereign airport lounges. These are the perfect way to start your holiday in style.
Favourite Sovereign hotel
The Princesa Yaiza always delights me to sell as I can envisage my own young family having a great time there. From the bustle of the airport and squeals of excitements when catching the plane to arriving at the luxury hotel and exploring the pools and the beaches surrounding the property as soon as one arrives!!! The kids club is a parents dream and those families staying in the Royal Kiko suite are truly in for a special holiday.
