This fantastic Far Eastern escape lets you experience two powerhouse cities – Singapore and Bangkok – plus the iconic Eastern & Oriental Express. You’ll finish off with a week’s beach-hopping in laid-back Phuket.
Once you arrive in Singapore, a private transfer will take you straight to your hotel, so you can get stuck in to exploring.
This sleek city has plenty of cutting-edge attractions to discover, like the gigantic, neon-lit ‘supertrees’ at Gardens by the Bay and the state-of-the-art theme parks on Sentosa Island.
Save time for its heritage, though, which you can find in the lantern-lit streets of Chinatown, the colourful fabric shops of Little India and the colonial architecture of iconic Raffles Hotel.
On day four, you’ll start your journey north on board the elegant Eastern & Oriental Express. Get settled in to your cabin while the Malaysian countryside rolls past the window, before dressing up for a delicious dinner followed by drinks in the bar car.
On day five, you’ll have the opportunity to disembark at Kuala Kangsar and tour a local temple, museum and gallery, before re-boarding the train for another gourmet dinner. Your final day on the Eastern & Oriental Express will take you to the Thai town of Kanchanaburi, where you can hop off for a guided tour of the River Kwai Bridge and Thai-Burma Railway Museum.
You’ll arrive into Bangkok late afternoon, where a private transfer will take you to your hotel. For an Instagram-worthy overview of the city, seek out one of Bangkok’s rooftop restaurants for dinner.
There are plenty of options for your full day in Bangkok.
Tour the ornate Grand Palace, admire the pearl-encrusted feet of the reclining Buddha at Wat Pho, or browse for knick-knacks at one of the city’s many markets.
When the afternoon sun gets too hot, retreat to your hotel pool or jump aboard one of the sightseeing riverboats that meander lazily along the Chao Phraya.
A private transfer will take you from your hotel in Bangkok to the airport, where it’s a quick, 80-minute hop south to Phuket.
This tropical isle is the perfect place for a relaxed end to your trip. The beaches are sandy and framed by nodding palms, the jungly interior hides serene Buddhist temples and shrines, and every hotel comes with a first-rate spa (if you’re brave, go for a proper Thai massage – it’s not for the faint-hearted, but leaves you feeling incredibly rejuvenated).
For a dose of culture, make the journey to Phuket Town, where you can admire Sino-Portuguese architecture and discover a clutch of trendy boutiques and cafes.
On day 15, a private transfer will whisk you back to Phuket’s airport for your flight home.
