About the location
You'll find the medieval city of Dubrovnik - AKA the 'pearl of the Adriatic' - nestling on the coast in the far south of Croatia. Historical buildings edge the narrow streets, many of them now housing restaurants, boutiques and luxury hotels. Dubrovnik's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a car-free zone where cobbled lanes meander between ancient buildings. It's chock-full of heritage - monuments, palaces and churches reflect the city's colourful past, showcasing Venetian, Latin and Slavic influences. The town’s wonders are embraced by the walls the city is renowned for. Built between the 13th and 16th centuries, they stand 25 metres at their highest and 12 metres at their widest. When it comes to beaches, you'll find small pebbly stretches running along the coast, plus pine-backed bays on the islands sprinkled just offshore.

Stayed for three nights whilst on a photography workshop. The bedroom was a good size, had an excellent bathroom and provided tea and coffee making facilities. We only had breakfast in the hotel but this was excellent with a a very large choice of hot and cold items. The staff were very friendly and always willing to assist. The hotel faces the harbour and is a couple of miles from the old town. A very pleasant hotel for the a short break.

The hotel is about 25 minutes from the airport. I booked the hotel directly, and they kindly arranged a taxi for the airport trips. That cost about ??55 return. The alternative - a bus into the town station and a taxi is cheaper, but more hassle.
Check in was swift and efficient. Our room was a good size, with a huge bed. It had a sofa and plenty of space. It had a tv with BBC news and a safe. The bathroom had a bath and separate shower. All modern and clean!
The hotel has a good lobby bar which on some evenings had a couple of chaps playing guitar and signing.
Breakfast was served in the restaurant on the ground floor. Plenty of hot and cold options and good quality.
The hotel had a concession company in the lobby who arranged tours. We booked day trips to Montenegro and Bosnia with the company and were picked up from the hotel. The cost was about ??45 per person for each trip.
The hotel is alongside the marina and has a few bars and restaurants close by. A ten minute walk takes you to a long pedestrian walk way with numerous bars and eateries.
The hotel is in a nice safe area. There are plenty of places to go for a run around the marina area.
Top tip. A visit will almost certainly include going to the Old Town of Dubrovnik. It's about a 25 minute walk from the hotel - which is a bit up and then down hill. The walk is fine and through safe areas. Otherwise there is the number 6 bus; leave the hotel and walk for about 5 mins to the stop nod you are in the old town in 5 minutes. The buses are good in the town and area.
A pleasant hotel which had great staff and service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!
