About the location
Fiskardo is one of Kefalonia's prettiest towns. Backed by cypress-clad hills and pastel buildings, this colourful resort provides the kind of views they make postcards from. Its chic bars and restaurants attract an A-list fan base - you'll often see smart yachts moored up in the harbour, alongside the fishing boats. Tavernas set out tables and chairs along the waterfront, serving up local favourites like fresh calamari and shots of ouzo. The waterfront is guarded by the town’s twin landmarks; its famous lighthouses, one dating back to the Venetians and one a product of the Victorians. There are two curved, shingle beaches for soaking up some sunshine, and it’s well worth putting your history buff hat on to explore the 12th-century chapel on Fiskardo’s outskirts.
1 hour 15 minutes from Kefalonia airport.

Overall we had a lovely stay at the hotel. The location is perfect and very close for evenings in the charming Fiscardo village (shuttle provided from hotel). Rooms are simple and quite basic (definitely not super luxurious). Bathrooms slightly cramped. Beware that the hotel is very popular with families and during holidays there are lots of children. We found breakfast delicious but dinner was disappointing (service was poor and food average). Poolside lunch was better but again lack lustre service. We loved the facilities (nice pool, gym and even squash court which we loved using). Overall a lovely property very spread out and with amazing views / location but some adjustments to service for dinner / lunch needed.

The emelisse has to be one of the most beautiful and relaxing hotels I???ve stayed in. I was weighing up all the hotel options prior to the trip and was so glad to have booked this when we arrived! I was initially worried that the rooms looked a bit dark in the photos and they arent the bright white rooms which one might associate with Mediterranean hotels but that???s because they utilise ???mood lighting??? and there???s no bright main lights in the room which I personally really like.
We had a junior suite with a shared pool and it exceeded our expectations. Most of the time we had the shared pool area (shared between 4 rooms) to ourselves! The room has a traditional feel to it and was very clean, comfortable and quiet and the sea views are phenomenal.
It???s a 10 min stroll to the centre/ port of fiscardo (we visited fiscardo, Argostoli and Sami and for us fiscardo was our favourite of the towns). The hotel also offer an hourly shuttle bus service to and from the centre for those that don???t fancy the walk.
All the staff were wonderful, especially Denise on the front desk who was so helpful, thank you so much for the beautiful candle as a parting gift! Also Anastasia in the spa was excellent and gave me the most amazing facial and massage!
If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing trip where you can just switch off and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, I would highly recommend this hotel.
