Spectacular sands close to the island capital
There is no doubt that the flour-soft white sand of this area is what draws visitors from afar. The half-moon beach stretches out for a staggering two miles and is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
Scuba diving is big here – dive shops line the beach, stocked with equipment to rent and qualified instructors to show you to the area’s reefs and wrecks (plus the sunken statues at the underwater sculpture park). If you prefer to keep your head above water, there’s a large choice of watersports to choose from, too.
Look north and you’ll spot St. George’s Harbour, the heart of Grenada’s capital. A short 20-minute drive will have you in the centre of town, with its colourful houses and picturesque waterfront.
