All the room facilities were excellent and kept very clean the only minus was the room was rather small.
Buffet breakfast was really good. The meals at the restaurant were excellent and well priced although the cost of the wine was around twice what we paid at the other restaurants.
All staff very friendly and keen to help.

We stayed at the Seagara March 4-8th for the first part of our trip to Bali as first timers. We were immediately impressed upon our arrival. We got in at 11:30pm and arranged for a driver to pick us at the airport through the hotel. Our driver was there with a sign and was very friendly. Once we got to the hotel, we were warmly greeted by staff.
We stayed in a bungalow and were very satisfied with the clean, spacious rooms. They had it decorated to a very nice Balinese style with robs, amenities, free water and natural bath supplies. The resort basks lush, immaculate flowers and trees. We were duly noted of the remodeling towards the beach of the main pool area (which was both quiet and didn???t effected our stay). While I wish it didn???t completely block the view to the beach, I know it???ll make the resort look even better when finished.
Our room included daily breakfast by the beach (which I didn???t know when I booked so that was awesome) and we ate at it every morning. It was delicious and had a variety of options from American/European styles, cheeses, plenty of juices and sweets, fruits, veggies and accompaniments. The view was really pretty considering how most of people doesn???t have the best beaches. It was clean and had a nice view of the Nusa islands at Mount Agung. This was the only restaurant available but we were. Wet happy.
The resort is beautiful, has three pools and excellent guest services. There was fresh water for your use and great big beach towels. You were given a complimentary reusable bag as well. I would like to say how much we loved Dayu in guest services/restaurant. We booked two trips through here and had an amazing time. She greeted us daily by name and always had a smile and answer to any questions we had. She was one of the most kind people I have met in Bali, thank you! However, all staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered room service at night and it was delicious and quick. The area is safe and had a nice access to walks down the beach to different markets and restaurants. We loved how close it was to take the boats to the Nusa islands as well.
We loved our time here and highly recommend to anyone considering. We will be certain to stay again when we come back to Bali!

We knew renovations were happening but still chose to stay here. Segara is a beautiful resort, lovely well maintained gardens and amazing staff. The renovations only had a very minimal impact on our stay. To clarify apart from walking past a fully screened off area to get to the beach and restaurant you still had use of the pools, rooms were quiet with no noise from the reno's. The larger pool facing the beach could still be used but this was screened off to the work going on that was on either side of the pool. Having said that with other pools on offer it was not an issue and you could still swim in this pool if you chose. When the reno's are complete I look forward to staying again. Please note that there is no way the reno's are on schedule and will not be finished by the estimated time. We were upgraded to a bungalow room and it was lovely. Huge spacious bathroom with bathtub! Air conditioning works extremely well. The resort grounds are stunning with guinea fowl, chooks, ducks and squirrels always seen. The rabbits are also worth visiting. Fresh water refills are spread throughout the resort and afternoon tea is a simple spread available each afternoon for guests. The location of the resort is very good. I am a frequent traveller to Bali and Sanur in particular and have stayed in more properties than I can count in Sanur. Segara has a good location. There are numerous local market shops, massage ladies, plenty of good local warungs for eating out, money changers, a good path for walking / riding bikes and easy to get transport if you want to venture out and about. I would recommend Segara.

It was quite hard to get the info we needed re room occupancy for Segara. We requested two separate rooms with king beds and no shared bathrooms. As it eventuated, we were assigned a "bungalow", two separate rooms, with own bathrooms and own entrances, the top room hung over the verandah of the underneath room.It had steep steps to the bed without railings but ceiling to floor windows on all sides. I had a look at other room types, all were of good standards. These are lovely bungalows.Segara was having renos done but that did not affect our stay. There are three big pools, the one in the most original area of rooms suited us best as it was a bit cooler than the other pools. None of them were cool enough for us Australians. The grounds are meticulously maintained and are beautiful. There were small pagodas to sit and wile away some time, fragrant aromas, lush greenery, stone features and water figurine fountains covered in ferns and moss.
Attention to detail in our rooms was very satisfactory, robes, slippers, toiletries, coffee/tea (only sachets of milk powder) and bottled water, a safe, excellent aircon and plentiful hot water.
There were a couple of minor repairs needed to both rooms.Bathrooms had glass doors and lavish curtains for privacy. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and included with the room rates, catering for European, Asian and English tastes. There were even cornflakes for the stick- in- the- muds! It was served smorgasbord style, eggs cooked to your liking. No one should complain about the food. There's a swim up bar for happy hour drinks, hopefully you wont strike the raucous Germans.
The hotel has direct access to the beach and the beach area has many cafes/ restaurants and small shops. The beach is attractive but do not expect Australian style. The tide whisks in and out quite quickly, it's a bit rocky and sand is full of coral and shell grinds, too tricky to walk on and feet sink into it.
Segara is a lovely stay.
