This was our second visit to the hotel and we couldn't give a 5* review again. This is a real pity because we loved our visit in 2018 and took the unusual step of booking to return. The building and Perast both remain absolutely beautiful, but this year we felt the service and issues at the hotel just weren't 5* standard.
The shower in our bathroom was built into the corner of the eaves room, had some cracks and mould and was so low that my tall husband couldn't stand up in it! The room didn't have a bath as an alternative.
On many mornings, items ran out at breakfast e.g. there was no orange juice on 3 out of 10 mornings. On several occasions, we weren't offered anything from the hot menu at all.
The small outdoor pool could have been lovely, but was FREEZING cold. People would get into it, gasp at the icy temperature and jump back out again. Please heat it! Ditto the indoor pool, which was unusably cold.
Our room was infested with ants. The hotel does a nice thing of leaving bottled water and a sweet treat in your room at night. However, in our case, we would come back to a plate swarming with ants. Housekeeping treated the ants twice, but they kept coming back.
After experiencing delightful staff last year, this year we were disappointed by a very curt blonde lady on Reception. When we arrived, we found we'd been given a twin room rather than one large bed as expected (supposed to be a romantic holiday!). We spoke to Reception to ask if we could get a deluxe double room, which we had booked. This lady told us there were NO other rooms available and that we would be happy to sleep in separate beds when we had an argument! I did not find this a funny or appropriate reply.
Overall, we won't be returning to the hotel.

This is an exquisite hotel made even more special by the wonderful staff. From the moment we arrived at the Iberostar in Perast we experienced a first class service. In addition to the beautifully appointed bedrooms, the public areas are tastefully decorated and in keeping with the amazing historic building that houses this hotel. The hotel is in two buildings which are separated by a beautiful old church. In the evening it feels like a film set. Staff could not have done more to make our stay special. Wonderful breakfasts served on a first floor terrace with a stunning view of Kotor Bay, excellent bar service including local drink recommendations, local tour recommendations and fabulous cocktails. This hotel has a luxury waterfront pool area with sea swimming access. The spa and hamam was a relaxing retreat with professional treatment advice from Mehmet. Housekeeping service, included a turn down service accompanied by delicious petit fours. Dobrinka from house keeping was wonderful and ensured that we had everything that we needed to make our stay special. This is a very small village to bring a 15 and 19 year old but the welcome we received in this hotel in this stunning village made for a very memorable holiday. Thoroughly recommended. Truly genuine, warm staff so generous with their time and knowledge.

Quite simply this hotel is stunning. From arrival to departure everything was spot on. The hotel has been refurbished beautifully and the staff keep it immaculately clean. We didnt have a sea view room but even the view from ours was lovely as Perast is such a beautiful place. There are lots of little touches that make you feel special and at home (which I wont spoil for the readers). The service is impeccable, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so friendly. Breakfast was a treat, so much choice and different additions every day. The beds are so comfy to! If you want a totally relaxing break away from a hectic life this is the place to come. This hotel combined with the stunning location is just what the doctor ordered. Thank you everyone for making our short stay so lovely!
