About the location

Magical fountains, mosaics and minarets are set against a backdrop of the magnificent Atlas Mountains in Marrakech. The beautiful city, rich in culture, fuses Arabic and African culture and traditions to form an incredibly fascinating cultural capital.

A huge square set on the edge of the old city is home to the Djemaa el-Fna, where you will find rows of open air food stalls spreading deliciously aromatic scents of Moroccan spices through the streets, while jugglers, snake charmers and belly dancers put on captivating shows to enjoy.

Nearby are some of the most beautiful souks where vibrant colours and tempting aromas embrace you from every corner. Here’s where you can pick up intricate ornaments, delicate jewellery, beautiful hand beaded slippers and bags of aromatic spices. Visiting the souks is a must when in Marrakech, and is an experience like no other, where you may need to slide past hanging rugs and woven fabrics to unveil the next stall. The souks are incredibly lively and loud and with no set prices on many of the items on offer, haggling your best offer will have you feeling like a local quicker than you expected.
