About the location
Majorca’s smallest resort (and arguably its prettiest), Cala San Vicente’s fishing-village charm gives it an off-the-beaten-track appeal. An alternative to Majorca’s big beach superstars, Cala San Vicente moves at a mellower pace. It’s pretty blessed in the looks department, nestled in the island’s rocky northern coast against the jaw-dropping Sierra de Tramuntana Mountains. There’s a trio of beaches split by headlands, including Cala Molins, the most popular spot thanks to its honey-coloured sand and sunbeds. There’s a handful of beach cafes and restaurants along Cala Molins, which are good for lunch and low-key evenings. The clear water and rocky shore makes this part of the island perfect for snorkelling, too. If you fancy a day trip, Cala San Vicente is around a 10-minute drive from Pollensa, a medieval town with an arty vibe that’s popular for its cute craft shops and pavement cafes.

Had a wonderful five day stay (1 to 5 October) in this fabulous hotel. Decor lovely, food amazing, staff faultless - very friendly and helpful (nothing too much trouble) and all spoke perfect English, particularly the reception staff. Lovely pool area. The hotel generally was spotlessly clean and my room was simply lovely with a wonderful view in all directions from my balcony. A quiet location but plenty of little shops providing everything you could need. We had an enjoyable, roughly three miles, walk to Porta Pollenca. Soon sussed the local bus service out and visited other locations - it seemed to be just over a Euro per person whatever journey we did. If you want to rave the night away, it's probably not for you but if you simply want to re-charge your batteries in a beautiful hotel in a lovely, quiet ish location, I can't recommend it highly enough. Just book it!

Externally the Cala doesn't really impress, maybe it's the colour???. Inside, the reception area is cool and modern, with wicker furniture. I understand this area has had a face lift . I am not too sure about the restaurant area which has rather too much plastic for my taste. The outside eating area is lovely and the beautiful pool and gardens make this a lovely place to eat breakfast. Our bedroom, Rm 105, a junior suite, on the first floor faced the front. It had a large terrace which was walled and therefore very private. The bathroom was spacious but for a hotel of this quality I would have expected a shower screen not a curtain. All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was plentiful but some fish option would have been nice. We ate in the hotel just one evening and it was more than acceptable.
Probably my greatest praise goes to the Reception staff. They were always cheerful, and very helpful in terms of reserving tables, booking taxis and providing about information about local walks.
The ultimate question is would we go back ? ...... yes we would!
