Luxury Phuket Holidays

Pearl of the Andaman

Phuket

Holidays in Phuket offer an exquisite combination of high end resorts and outstanding natural beauty. As Thailand’s largest island, Phuket is famed for its lush rainforests which tower above the Andaman Sea and its mountains that zig zag across the horizon. Known as the Peal of the Andaman, Phuket has a number of incredible white beaches which sit in the national park, attracting visitors from far and wide with its untouched scenery. The largest of Phuket’s beaches, Mai Khao, stretches for over 11 kilometres and offers complete tranquillity. The island’s second longest beach, Bang Tao, swaps peaceful seclusion for chic bars, clubs and restaurants, creating an exotic buzz.

Phuket is also a Mecca for those looking to indulge in some nightlife. Patong, on the west coast of the island, is a haven for holidaymakers who want to let their hair down. The resort boasts a wide range of live entertainment and neon bars, offering the perfect place to enjoy a tropical cocktail or two.

Transfer Time

Transfer time from Phuket airport to Phuket is approximately 15 minutes.

When to go

Thailand has a tropical climate, which means it’s hot and humid for most of the year. Rainy months vary depending on where you are in Thailand: in south-western areas like Phuket, the monsoon season starts around April and finishes in October, while south-east destinations like Koh Samui see more rain between September and December (there’s still plenty of sunshine between showers, though). The hottest months are March to June, although humidity is high and average temperatures can push 40°C. Wait until after the rainy season if you prefer slightly cooler temperatures – between December and February, averages stick to the high 20s and early 30s.

Visa Information

British passport holders do not require a visa for stays of up to 30 days.

Tipping

Tipping is not expected in Thailand, although most hotels and restaurants will include a 10% service charge.

Introduction to languages

The official language of Thailand is Thai. English is widely spoken too.
