About the location
Phuket, nicknamed the Pearl of the Andaman, is Thailand's biggest island, connected to the west coast of the mainland by a series of bridges. It's big on scenery, with wooded hills, plenty of tropical greenery and a halo of white-sand beaches.
The longest of Phuket's beaches is Mai Khao, which unravels along the coast for 11 kilometres. A good portion of the beach sits within a national park, so it's beautifully undeveloped and edged with pine and palm trees. Bang Tao, the second-longest beach, is still relatively quiet, but offers up more in the way of restaurants, bars and chic beach clubs. Other standout beaches include Karon, a wide curve of powdery sand, and Kata, one of the prettiest spots in Phuket.
If you fancy a late night, make your way to Patong - its main street, Bangla Road, is lined with neon bars and nightclubs.

So for our purposes on this recent trip to Phuket, this hotel was perfect. It is in a quieter location that after doing tours all day or traveling to Patong is a perfect place to come back to. The private beach is stunning, clean, and not overcrowded. The resort grounds are really beautiful and have several pools to choose from, as well as good restaurants and a nice beach bar. However, the service and things related are not 5 star. At 5 star resorts, the baggage people do not stand there and ask for or look at you expecting a tip. It's awkward and 5 star resort staff pride themselves on simply providing outstanding service and do not expect a tip and often may even reject one. Not the case at all at this resort. My brother and his new fianc?? got engaged on the beach our first night there and we asked if the hotel could do rose petals and some sort of celebratory desert in their room at turn down service. It was 6:30 that evening and they said that it was too late but they could do it the following evening. We were disappointed but said ok. It was never done. They forgot. The staff is friendly enough but definitely not 5 star standards. Also, the bathroom amenities are bare minimum. They only provide shampoo, liquid, and bar soap and very low quality. And bring your own toothpaste because theres is barely enough for one use. They don't replenish those things each day either even when yours is half used or all gone. We had to call to ask for more. So it's little things like that that make this more of a 4.5 star hotel than 5 stars. Overall, this suited our needs because we were not just staying at the resort the entire time. We would have chosen somewhere else if that had been our intention this trip. If you have a family with kids this is a great spot.
Also, double check when you make an airport transfer reservation. I filled out the form on their website and then they sent me an email saying it was confirmed. Then later I got another email asking what car I wanted and informing me of the price. So I needed to reconfirm again saying I did want the car and the price was ok. I didn't do that because I thought my first email meant the pickup was confirmed. So we had to get a taxi from the airport which was pretty easy and 700thb cheaper. So double check that if you go that route.
