About the location
Phuket, nicknamed the Pearl of the Andaman, is Thailand's biggest island, connected to the west coast of the mainland by a series of bridges. It's big on scenery, with wooded hills, plenty of tropical greenery and a halo of white-sand beaches.
The longest of Phuket's beaches is Mai Khao, which unravels along the coast for 11 kilometres. A good portion of the beach sits within a national park, so it's beautifully undeveloped and edged with pine and palm trees. Bang Tao, the second-longest beach, is still relatively quiet, but offers up more in the way of restaurants, bars and chic beach clubs. Other standout beaches include Karon, a wide curve of powdery sand, and Kata, one of the prettiest spots in Phuket.
If you fancy a late night, make your way to Patong - its main street, Bangla Road, is lined with neon bars and nightclubs.

This is a great family resort, my 2 yr old and 5 yr old kids love the kids club and the kiddies pools. 6 separate pool areas, up to 5 different restaurants, 2-3 bars and 2 gyms and recreation areas there is plenty here for a big group or family. The staff were very nice and friendly. The location is lovely and overall it???s very good value for what you get. We paid $199.60 AUD per night for Deluxe room which had king bed and trundle beds. But we went in Monsoon season which I would never do again nor recommend. The beaches were very dirty and rough (almost unswimmable well for me and my young kids who aren???t strong swimmers) during this time, with rain and thunderstorms almost everyday. The resort staff clean up the beach twice a day and put in a lot of effort to keep their grounds nice and beautiful.
Kata Noi beach is very a beautiful and your close to Nai Harn Beach (one of our favourite beaches on Phuket) and Rawai Beach where you can buy fresh seafood from the market and have it cooked for you in a nearby restaurant. Not far from Chalong Bay (maybe 15mins drive) either which has great restaurants on the Pier (like Kang Eng)and elephant rides, Tiger Kingdom and go cart racing. There is very little food options in Kata Noi, so your best option is either to walk up the hill to Kata (maybe 15min walk if your game) or take a tuk tuk or taxi for 200 baht each way. Alternatively go to Patong or Karon.
The downsides were only the food, there is lots of variety at the buffet breakfast served right next to the beach at Seaview restaurant, but there was a lack of alternatives if you stayed there for two weeks like we did. Only variations were very slight. Kids loved the ready made pancakes from the pancake machines and my husband and son loved the omelettes. I enjoyed the salad and fried rice myself. Room service food was the biggest disappointment, it just didn???t have quality of food we have experienced at other hotels like Holiday Inn, Patong and Centara Grand, Karon. If they made a real effort to improve the quality and variety of their food my rating would have been higher. I would highly recommend they visit these hotels to see what their competitors are providing.
The staff at breakfast never looked too happy, that made me sad. Did they not enjoy working there?
It does cost at least 200 baht ($8 AUD) to go to Kata , 500 baht ($20 AUD) to Patong and 700 baht ($28 AUD) to Kalim Beach. Patong is a 20min ride whilst Kata is less than 5 mins. The same price to return. It costs us 3000 baht ($120 AUD) to go to Splash Jungle and back which was about 1 hr to 1 hr and 15min drive away, whilst the driver waited for us in the car park. Overall we saved money on accommodation but spent what we saved on travel.
I would recommend this hotel for families with kids and teenagers who don???t mind being a bit further out from where the action is in Patong. Would I stay here again? Maybe if we were looking to cater for a family or group gathering and needed something value for money. But if we were to go again with just my family of 5, we loved Centara Grand and the vibe of Karon. Centara Grand has water slides, a lazy river and a rock for jumping off which my 10 yr boy loves. Plus a swim up pool bar which was great for us. Although, Centara is generally a bit more expensive, it???s worth it.

We staying at this hotel for 3 nights then move to LeMeridien Hotel, sadly and regretting for not staying longer at Katathani Hotel. Service, pools, restaurants, cleanliness, kids pool etc.. are the best compare to others hotels i???ve stayed. Family with children???s highly recommended. We definitely comeback to this hotel next time we visit Phuket again.
