This resort was everything I was expecting after hearing so much about it. This resort doesn't allow kids younger than 10 years. When you enter the first gate, you will enter the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve and the resort is around 9km from here. It is a beautiful drive in the desert and you will see many gazelles. We received a warm welcome by the staff and so many gazelles. All the villas are beautifully done with private pool, sun deck area and a beautiful view of vast desert. There are lots of gazelles in the resort and they keep crossing your path every now and then. There were 4 gazelles who I guess lived permanently in our backyard and I loved seeing them all the time. They are very cute, harmless animals. Place is very calm and relaxing as the only sound you hear is birds chirping or the wind. Luckily, during our stay weather was one of the best in dubai. it was drizzling most of the time, there was cool breeze and temperature was perfect. The stay includes 2 complimentary activities. We chose the sundowner, It includes a camel ride for around 15 minutes, watching the sun set from sand dunes with wine and snacks and then come back to resort on camels. It was very good, though we couldn't see the sun as it was cloudy that day. We had chosen the nature walk as other activity but it was in the morning at 6:30am, so we decided to skip it. They have a beautiful spa with sauna, steam, jacuzzi and different massages. Food was awesome. As we are vegetarians, the chef made some special vegetarian dishes for us and everything was very tasty. Staff is very helpful, polite and very genuine to make your stay comfortable. We enjoyed our stay so much. Thank you Al Maha for a great memory!!

My wife and me love this place in the desert and we know it for approximately 15 years. In the beginning, it was operated by Emirates Airlines. The first change was when Starwood began to operate this lovely resort and we experienced that something in terms of business was going on. In 2018, Marriott took over Starwood and during our visit in September 2018, after director of guest services Mira Radic has resigned from the resort, this place is not the same any more. It seems to us that a lot of additional workload puts pressure to the staff. While it was really personal in the past, we noticed on our last visit in March 2019, that the passion of many staff members seemed to be gone. We realized „business as usual“ as you find it in all five star resorts. Much too much come and go. It ended up that the luggage was picked up without prior notice and we felt as if we were tossed out. The service is not really bad. But the original Al Maha spirit is gone.
