About the location
Ras Al Khaimah stretches languidly along Dubai’s Persian Gulf, known for its flour-white sand and bath-temperature waters. Decorated with a handful of luxury hotels, it’s a small but perfectly formed resort an easy 45-minute drive from Dubai International Airport. It’s big on swanky facilities, with an exclusive marina and yacht club perched off the shore and a swathe of private beaches. The watersports here are fantastic and sailing trips are a favourite. If you’d rather stay on dry land, the resort has a couple of top-notch golf courses including the spotless 18-hole number at Al Hamra Golf Club. If you fancy getting a feel for the traditional UAE, your hotel can arrange 4x4 desert safari, tours of the nearby city of Oman and even trips to see the much-loved camel races.
