About the location
The tiny, historic village of Pyrgos sits cupped in Santorini's eastern coast, crowning one of the highest points of the island. Its panoramic views stretch over to the picturesque village of Oia - as you'd imagine, the sunsets from here are jaw-drop stuff.
A classic Cyclades settlement, the village clusters around the ruins of Kasteli Castle, with traditional architecture and whitewashed houses working their way down the hillside. Little winding lanes thread their way through, with crumbling churches and a handful of cafes lining the way. A stay in Pyrgos is like stepping back in time; stroll through its narrow lanes, dine at tiny tavernas and stop at local wineries for a glass of local white.
There's a few bits for history buffs to get their teeth into, too. Don't miss the monastery and its accompanying museum, which hosts a 'Vanishing Santorini' exhibition that looks into the island's past.
15 minutes from Santorini airport.

This review is long overdue! Stayed at Carpe Diem back in September 2017. From our arrival to the departure we were treated like royalty! They are so accommodating and want to ensure you have the most relaxing stay in Santorini! We did not lift a finger..they helped us booked dinner, gave us directions to key locations, booked ATVs for us! We even got engaged on the trip and we have a surprise bottle of champagne sent to our room.
The rooms are gorgeous and the view is amazing you will NOT regret your stay here. We have vowed to make CD one of our stays every time we go to Santorini!

Staying at Carpe Diem was one of the best experiences I've ever had with Boutique Resorts in my whole life. Everything from the welcome, the suite, the personnel, the attention to the client, to the great breakfast and transfer service are unparalleled.
I do not take a lot of time to describe every detail, because you can look at the site and read other reviews, but rest assured that if you want a 5* PLUS PLUS PLUS experience, Natacha and her Team can give it to you.
Also worth mentioning is the massage I received at the spa was really outstanding ... I only stayed a couple of days and regretted so much not to be able to schedule more....!
