Luxury Polignano a Mare Holidays

Whitewashed houses and dramatic cliffs

Luxury Polignano a Mare is a small town located on Puglia’s Adriatic coast. It’s best known for its dramatic clifftop setting and turquoise waters. The historic town centre is built upon limestone rock, with narrow winding streets and whitewashed buildings that overlook the water below. As it’s on the smaller side, it's easy to explore by foot with multiple viewpoints dotted along the cliff edge and leading down to the sea.

The main beach in Polignano a Mare is Cala Porto. It’s a narrow beach covered in smooth white pebbles, overlooked by cliffs. The water is clear and calm making it the perfect place to swim. Head out to the nearby caves or watch locals jump from the rocks into the sea. Around 10 minutes' walk from the old town you’ll also find Cala Paura, an even smaller beach, known for its quieter feel and warm waters.

Luxury holidays in Polignano a Mare

At the centre of the old town, you’ll find Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. This is where people gather for coffee, lunch or evening drinks, often staying to watch the sunset over the stunning sea. Here you can explore small shops and pretty churches, as well as poetry engraved into the stone walls.
