Le Méridien Ile Maurice

Had a pleasant stay. Best Indian food in Kumin restaurant in Mauritius.The staff was helpful especially Loveraj (Manager), Pravesh and Umesh took care of us for all 3 nights

My stay at Le Méridien Ile Maurice was absolutely wonderful. The all-inclusive package made everything effortless, with great value and easy access to all the resort’s amenities. The staff were consistently warm, friendly, and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Dining was a real highlight, with delicious food and exceptional on-site restaurants offering a variety of flavours and memorable experiences. Combined with the beautiful setting and relaxed atmosphere, it was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a truly stress-free island getaway. A shout out to an exceptional Server named Meenakshi at the O Jade Restaurant. Thank you for being such an attentive Server.

Having had a stroke my mobility is compromised. I walk with hiking poles as I have weakness and balance issues. Accessibility at this hotel is generally good however there were a few things I had difficulty with. That said I always found a “work around”. The staff are also on hand and are all very obliging with assistance. First impressions of the hotel, a lovely beach setting, stunning views and sunsets. We stayed in a Nirvana adults only room. The room was nice but could do with a makeover (I only say that because we were given another room on our last day for showering & changing at the further end of the resort) Although a bit smaller this room was stunningly more modern. We had a walk in shower, I requested slip mats these were quickly supplied. The house keeping team were always asking if we had everything we needed. We mostly had our breakfast at the Jade restaurant. The staff were very friendly. Special mention to Baboo who always made us smile. We usually went to breakfast at 7am when it was very quiet and peaceful. A great view to start the day. We visited all the A La Carte restaurants for lunch & evening meals (more than once) Enjoyed all of these, the staff were all amazing, too many to name. We only used the Nomad buffet once for breakfast & three evening meals. Personally I was not impressed with the food or service here. Food was cold, drinks service was disjointed. The pools, amazingly big and access to them steps with handrails. Steps with handrails, just perfect. The toilets at the adult only pool had stepping stone access which was difficult for me, however I found a “work around”. I did not see any wheelchair access toilets near to the pools. That’s not to say that there wasn’t any. There was a double staircases from the poolside/beach leading to the lobby. The handrails started on the 7th step up and finished a few steps short from the top. As I need a handrail we would go round to the front of the hotel and access the lobby via the main entrance. Buggy’s were available if you required them. It’s a long walk from end to end of the resort. Buggy’s that were passing would stop and offer a lift if they had room. We went on the glass bottom boat, getting off the boat was an issue for me but with the help of three of the boat house team I was back on the beach in no time. We had a lovely relaxing two week stay here, would I go back to this hotel? Probably not. If I had full mobility, Yes, maybe.
