Six luxury five star lodges offer a serene setting for your safari holiday in Shamwari Game Reserve. There are activities and facilities for families, couples and small groups, with spa treatments, swimming pools and delicious fine cuisine and wines served at the onsite restaurants. Included in your stay are two game drives per day, usually departing early morning and late afternoon, allowing you to see the animals at their most active. Take in the surrounding landscapes as you listen to expert guides teach you about the wildlife, including exotic local and migratory bird species.

Your stay includes two game drives per day, usually one in the morning and one in the evening, when the animals are most active. Expert rangers will help track down animals and act as your guide as you enjoy panoramic views from an open top 4x4.

Big Cat Sanctuaries

Learn about the perils which face these magnificent creatures at the reserve’s big cat sanctuaries which protect lions, leopards and other wild cats.

Rehabilitation Centre

Conserving the natural surroundings as well as the animals that call the reserve home, this centre cares for ill, orphaned or abandoned animals before releasing them back into their natural environment.

Rhino Awareness Centre

Protecting endangered rhinos and teaching guests about the issues these wonderful creatures face, the Ian Player Rhino Awareness Centre offers a unique safari experience.

About the location
Home to a huge range of activities and attractions, Eastern Cape is perfect for a beach, city or safari holiday in South Africa.
