I read a lot of these TA reviews before we came away and I was getting more and more anxious about what we would find when we arrived. We told ourselves we just wanted a week away in the sun to relax after a very busy Summer (we own a hotel in Scotland) and whatever it was like we would just get on with it.
However I really, really liked it - enjoyed every minute of it - I was amazed that it was so good and wondered what the problem was with all the bad reviews. The conclusion I have come to is that it is all about timing. Go away in the busy periods and you will experience the crowds the bad manners, queues etc - it stands to reason! Having been through the "children" stage I now having the luxury to go away outside the school holidays - the resort was only about 60% full and was great. It's true it is probably not 5* compared to British standards but then you are not paying the same price. There are too many rooms to be able to offer a proper 5* service in the busy periods in my opinion. But as far as I am concerned what we got was definitely value for money.
We had a room by the quiet pool and we were amazed at how quiet it was both at day and at night. No need to reserve a sunbed - it was only about 50% full at the busiest time.
Everywhere was clean, room was a very good size with plenty of room to put clothes away (and I don't travel light!).
I thought the food was very good. I really enjoyed trying different things for dinner every night - many things I had never had before. We did not experience any pushing and shoving, no more that 3 people in the queue for eggs/pancakes at breakfast, food was the correct temperature, loved the Cava at breakfast - Bucks Fizz every morning. So much choice for breakfast and dinner - I didn't know where to start, but I ate every bit up off my plate!!
Having a fridge was great to store milk and drinks and the balcony was large with 2 sunbeds and a table and chairs. The wi-fi worked wherever we were in the Hotel so no complaints there either.
Puerto de Mogan is really lovely. The Friday market was good to see and was the busiest we'd seen the town. So enjoyed sitting at the cafes at lunchtime looking over the lovely clear blue sea and totally relaxing. If you want a lot of activity this probably is not the place for you - but for us who just wanted to relax for a week - it was simply perfect!
So - have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel and I would go back again (in November!) - oh yes and the staff were great too!

The design and look of the, hotel is amazing. Far far too many rooms and staff can't keep up with it. This was in October, it must be ten times worse in July and August. The queue for eggs in the morning, 20 minutes for a fried egg !!! Decided to do boiled, they slid out of the shell. Food was Luke warm and trays were mainly empty. They ask for a credit card up front and charge everything to it. We had cash and would of rather paid as you go. Cleaners were still in rooms at 5pm. Entertainment laughable, Needs quite a few more tweeks.
