About the location
Curved around a Blue Flag beach, Punta Prima sits on a near-perfect piece of coast on Menorca’s southern tip. The wide tranquil bay is the resort’s headliner, with fine white sand dipping into the pale blue waters of the Mediterranean – it’s perfectly designed for whiling away the days in Menorca’s reliably sunny climate. The pretty promenade is dotted with a handful of low-key restaurants, beach bars and cafes serving up some of the local flavour – look out for Menorcan favourite calderata de llagosta (lobster stew). Pick a restaurant with views across Illa de S’Aire, an uninhabited island just off the coast home to a lovely old lighthouse. For active types, Punta Prima sits on the Cami di Cavalls – Path of Horses – an ancient bridle path that circles the island and is a favourite for walking, cycling and horse riding.

Stayed in Studio 1909 in August 2017, room had very bad smell of damp and bad odours, was unable to sleep at nights and was refused room change, no means to allow fresh air to blow through room as only the sliding doors for air to come in but no windows to allow air to pass through, reps were useless, reception refused to give room change just fobbed me off, finally on last day got a manager to come to the room, out of there 30 minutes later ! I suspect the situation may Still be the same . The resort is fine providing you get a second floor suite but the studio was a nightmare and my wife was very unwell on our return home. I would not go to this resort again if I had to stay in a studio, the fault is in the design of the accommodation as the rooms are terraced and the ground floor studios mid terrace have no back windows to allow air to flow through, hence problems ! Studio 1909 was just awful but once I was there I was in big trouble as I believe the management knows there's a big problem but can't really do anything about it because the problem is integral to the design of the construction of the studio . So you just get fobbed off and they hope you will eventually go home and won't bother to complain about it. So we are going into 2018 soon ......please folks take this on board, the second floor rooms will probably be ok, but I would not ever book a Studio there ever, ever ever again....got it !

The hotel is located close to the sandy beach with small selection of shops and restaurants close by. I read lots of reviews and was concerned before going away but it was a lovely holiday and good value for money , despite the food. So the good and bad...
Good - clean resort, fantastic free sporting facilities including squash and tennis courts, bikes, archery, rifle shooting and indoor pool. Great selection of drinks included in all Inclusive and ice creams too. Cocktails good with drinks served in glasses except around pool. Restaurant open early for early breakfast if you book by 8pm the night before and provide packed lunches too. Good bus service to Mahon for 1.70 euros, takes 20 minutes. 2 bed apartment had so much storage which was really good, also fridge and tv with English channels(40-48). Bathroom had bath and shower and were clean with plenty of towels and toiletries replaced daily. Beach offers kayaking at 15 euros per hour per kayak(1 or 2 person).
Not good- outside pools cold, in fact freezing in October as not heated. Wasps are a nuisance around self service drinks stations but to be fair the hotel do all they can by disinfecting outdoor areas daily. Food was the biggest disappointment, very 3 star with exception of breakfast which was ok. Food was just warm, bland and very uninteresting, certainly not something to look forwards to. Entertainment was not good, but to be fair we tried watching it a few times and gave up after 10 minutes. If you are not overly fit you may struggle as the resort is steep and certainly unsuitable for elderly or people with mobility issues.
Overall resort was a good 4 star but I would rate the food 3 star, I would rather pay more and have decent food... certainly not 5 star or what I would expect of a Thomson platinum hotel...but we had fun!
