Insotel Punta Prima Prestige Suites & Spa

This is not a 5 Star Hotel, at best a 3 Star. Staff excellent but place is run down, too many screaming kids, only good for families not adults. Would not recommend, but every effort made by Hotel Staff. Food plenty of it great for all you can eat people, but quality not quite there. Good VFM if you have low standards or have large group of kids, lots of free booze. Not my ideal of 5 Star.

Overall we had a great time at the Punta Prima Prestige suites, this was mainly due to our upper floor suite which was beautiful and had an amazing sea view, with sun loungers on our balcony. The room was very spacious and the bed was large and comfortable (6048). Greeting on arrival wasn’t great, when booking our accommodation directly with the hotel the question ‘what time will you arrive’ I stated 12.00 midday, we arrived at 12.30pm and were greeted with a tiny bottle of plastic water and a map of where everything was on the grounds. We were tired from our early flight, so didn’t take the info in. We were told our room wasn’t ready but we could sit at the pool, so we had to change in the toilet, and got very hot and bothered. We then went back to reception where we were then offered a lunch at the all inclusive buffet restaurant which was welcomed. We did not receive our room until 3pm!!!! Why ask arrival time if the room is then not prioritised- the beautiful room did make up for it once we were in. I did also complain about the welcome water - in a plastic bottle (I don’t buy anything in plastic as it’s bad for the environment). I was subsequently provided with a bottle of cava and fruits in our room which was appreciated, but a fancy welcome in the first place would have been better. We ate at the buffet restaurant for prestige guests only which was mostly great, the chef would cook our chosen meats or fish. Sometimes the food in the metal containers was cold. Disappointed that there wasn’t more traditional local cuisine- if you like Italian they have that available daily?? I thought I’d gone to Spain not Italy. The tex mex wasn’t great, food was not spicy and very bland. The free bottle of wine made a change but wasn’t great quality. Drinks in the prestige restaurant were extortionate - we were stung on our first evening and refused to buy drinks for the rest of the week €11 for a glass of wine, €7.50 for a bottle of beer, €5.50 for water - the pool bar was barely used either due to the overpriced drinks Pool was lovely, we used the spa facilities twice as was complimentary for booking directly with the hotel. I wouldn’t pay €19 per person to use it

The rooms are beautiful. We had an upstairs suite and loved it. The food is buffet style in the main area. We did not try the grill but heard afterwards it was very good and so should have booked it. In Sept our side of the resort was full of babies and toddlers. That surprised us. Most families were in the other half of the resort.
