Melia Jardines del Teide

We stayed 7 days half board in a Junior suite. Balcony gave a sea view & overlooked one of the pools . You could clearly hear the entertainment if you sat outside in the evening. You have 2 comfy large single beds pushed together, sofa lounge, bathroom with shower & his/hers sink which is amble for a week's stay. The hotel is a 15 min downhill walk/ short taxi ride or daily shuttle from 2 sandy beaches, in this top end resort which is framed with the sea & mountains in the background. Lovely land scaped grounds, it's built on a hill so you need either to walk down several flights of stairs or take 2-3 lifts to get from rooms at top of hotel down to the main pool. Large Pool is nice & warm 28 C so you can get straight in with some attractive features.We tended to go down after breakfast, you can get a sunbed, as the management discourage reserving them by towel. However, You have to watch out for some white shelves under water though, if you want to avoid an unpleasant bump while swimming. Food in the main restaurant was a good choice & enough variety for 7 days. You can get fish/steak/pork/ chicken/shellfish cooked fresh while you wait. Mmmm!Canary/Italian/Oriental theme nights as well as Spanish. Slight disappointment was lack of paella. Also a joint of roast meat available , though there wasn't a chef there all the time to carve. Lovely ice creams! Breakfast you could get cold meats, fruit,porridge, cooked eggs, sausages, bacon etc. Choice of seating either inside near the food is warmer if it's windy, but a bit echoey. Outside is very popular with the lovely view over the town & the sea, but at peak times you may have to wait for a table. Staff are all very friendly & endeavour to make sure you have a great stay. We also enjoyed a really relaxing massage, which was heavily discounted as listening to a 30 min speel on the Melia rewards program. There is a hard working entertainments team which put on programme of fitness activities Pilates, Yoga, Stretching, Tai Chi, water aerobics etc as well as cultural activities like Spanish, craft making. In the evening after your meal out on the terrace, you can enjoy 2 acts, 1st tends to be an instrumentalist or DJ, followed by a more lively singer/duo/band which included an operatic duet muscular young men with oiled chests performing acrobatic dance moves to Latin music! Reception was very helpful with any queries we had. Cleaning staff always left our room clean & tidy. There are plenty of places in thi hotel to look out, take in the view, enjoy the sunshine & be grateful for life.

I have recently returned from a 10 day stay break here. Rooms: we have a junior suite with sea view. Lovely big room and comfortable bed. Could get a bit noisy given we were above restaurant and nightly entertainment was in bar beside this but that only went on until 11pm Location: short walk to town, shops etc. steep hill on way back! Food: the quality was good but variety??? during our stay they had Italian theme 4 nights, Mexican 2. For a hotel of this standard, I would expect more variety than this. Pool: lovely big heated pool. Sunbeds comfortable and plenty of them. My favourite thing- cannot reserve them so no need to rush down at 6am to get your spot then not turn up til 11! Throughout each day there are exercise classes; aqua spin, stretching, aqua gym, yoga, lots of variety . Shout out to Fernando and Kevin On-site gym, small but good facilities All in all lovely hotel. Would give8/10 only because of the variety of food..
