Golf greens and golden shores
Turkey’s Antalya region takes you to a sanctuary of secluded coves, golden beaches and impressive pine forests where you can enjoy a stunning mountain backdrop. Curved around Turkey’s southern edge, there is something for everyone, with plenty of amenities for both couples and families on the pristine beaches, edged with azure waters. More active holidaymakers can choose from the selection of water sports, in addition to a number of golf clubs which are perfect for fairway fans.
There are also plenty of opportunities to follow the walking and cycling trails through picturesque olive groves, vast eucalyptus forests and pine clad mountains. Discover a myriad of exotic flora and fauna and a world of bird species hiding in the forests, while along the beach you can find nesting leatherback turtles. If you feel like total relaxation and rejuvenation, be sure to try out a traditional Turkish hammam and ease yourself into holiday mode.

There are no two ways about it – Turkey is hot. Summers top 30°C, with an average of 12 hours of sunshine a day and virtually no rain. The coast is cooled by sea breezes, which are particularly welcome in the mid-summer months. Spring and autumn are good times to go, averaging a thoroughly beach-ready mid-20s with plenty of sunshine and blue skies.
At this current time, British citizens do not need a visa to enter Turkey for tourism or visits of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. For more information, please visit www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/turkey/entry-requirements.
In restaurants in Turkey, it’s common to leave 10-15% as a tip, unless service charge is included – make sure you check your bill carefully. Round up the fare when paying your taxi driver, although it’s not necessary to tip a dolmus driver. In the very popular Turkish baths, you should tip the masseuse between 10-20%.
The official language of Turkey is Turkish. English is widely spoken too, so getting by is easy.
