Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Waterpark

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at this hotel with our two children aged 2 and 5. We stayed in a Club sea view room on the 9th floor. The staff were very attentive and any messages to the concierge on the Marriott App would be quickly responded and acted upon. A big shout out to Mohan and Satish who looked after our children taking them around the resort in the club car. Mina is excellent and makes sure the entire outside pool and beach area runs smoothly as always and will always stop and chat to you and the family. This is our 5th stay at the this hotel and there now seems to be a culture of bagging sun beds early in the morning and not returning. I had to complain as I saw one person take 8 sun beds by the Westin Lap pool, and they not arrive until 3:30pm in the afternoon with outside guests not staying at the hotel. There needs to be a policy in peak holiday periods where if a bed is left un attended for 2/3 hours then you remove the items for other guests to use. The main footpath in the Jungle Bay waterpark was closed for upgrades and repairs, which was surprising considering October half-term is one of the busiest times of the year for the resort and was still not fully operational when we went home. Maybe it’s open now for the end of the month?! A big shout to Asmita, Sabita, Sumit, Kartik and Rupesh looked after us and the children in the club lounge, and thank you for the breakfast boxes for the early flight home!!! The Bussola pizza restaurant really needs to put large fans outside again especially with the humidity. We sat indoors with the air con next to us, as the new owners seem to have gotten rid of the outside fans. I know several locals who no longer go to this restaurant due to the fans being removed. Also the furniture seems to be more accustomed to the winter and not 30 degree weather! Also the Horizon Pool bar always seems to have such a slow service. My wife and I sat at the pool bar for 10 minutes and were not served. This happened the previous year when we waited 15 mins to be served for lunch and we gave up waiting and went to Bounty Beats. Maybe this is another example of a few things of what are usually high customer service standards slipping due to staffing shortages. The rooms are exceptionally cleaned and frequently serviced. We would happily come back here again and it’s the perfect hotel if you have kids under 10 with the waterpark and kids club!! Just trying and improve the service at the Horizon Pool Bar as this gives you a 4/5 review over a higher one!! It seems to be a constant poor performer for the overall hotel.

We are currently staying at this hotel as an extended family of eight and, unfortunately, been left quite disappointed from the moment we arrived. The experience is not what is usual for a supposedly “5 star hotel” in Dubai and one of which offers an all-inclusive” option. Reception: The reception staff were quite unwelcoming and unaccommodating, not a standard you’d expect from a Marriott. Whenever we raised a question or issue, the response often felt dismissive or blamed on “someone else” — it seemed like a culture of passing the buck rather than helping guests. Check-in itself was confusing, especially regarding what was actually included in the “all-inclusive” package. All-Inclusive Confusion: After checking in, the AI didn’t kick in until 3pm (we arrived at 7am), we tried to charge a few items to our room but were told we couldn’t because we were “all-inclusive.” Yet, it turns out it’s not truly all-inclusive. We were told to go back to reception to put down a deposit, where we were asked, “How much do you want to put down?” — which made no sense for an all-inclusive stay for some additional incidentals. On top of that, we had to sign for everything we ordered, which completely defeats the point and made meals and drinks feel awkward and confusing. Even simple things like ice cream stands came with extra charges! Facilities and Service: Getting a sun lounger is like a competitive sport here. People claim loungers at the crack of dawn and then don’t appear all day, leaving others with nowhere to sit. The staff advised their policy was “first come first serve” but beds were left unoccupied for most of the day. In addition, many of the sun umbrellas were broken or even dangerous. Staff numbers seemed very low, leading to long waits and poor service. Including table clearing — dishes sat for ages, and service was inconsistent. The waterpark was one of the better parts of the hotel — our kids loved it — but it wasn’t particularly clean. Rooms: Our room was also disappointing. It was not a sufficient size for a family of four; our children (aged 6 and 4) were expected to share a single bed, which was far from ideal. When we complained they advised we could have an additional bed for a charge, I’m baffled as to why they would allow a booking for a family of 4 in such a set up. They did eventually waiver the charge for the additional bed. Other oddities: At the beach, we were “served” water but without any cups to drink from, which summed up the general lack of thought and organisation. Even if requested they rarely appeared and if you walked up to the bar to request them, they almost came across as insulted. Overall, while the waterpark itself was fun, the poor service, confusing “all-inclusive” system, and general lack of cleanliness made this a stay we wouldn’t repeat. There’s real potential here, but a serious lack of leadership from the management and service standards need serious improvement.

Currently staying at the le meridian, and able to use most facilities from the W and the westin which is great. The food from all restaurants is outstanding! Rooms are nice and spacious, facilities in the hotels are good ( some things being a little dated / tired/ worn compared to other 5* hotels I have been too) the reason for only giving it a 4 out of 5 is the drinks service is very very slow in every outlet, the pool area you can wait upto 30 mins for your drink, the beach bar we waited over an hour last night, I understand there was an after party from the brunch we also went too, so it’s was a lot busier than usual and more staff was needed but it shouldn’t take more than an hour to wait for a drink… even after asking them atleast 3 times where our drink was. The sunbed situation is tough as not sure how they would stop this, if you want a sunbed around the pool area you need to be down by atleast 7am! And the staff who helps with your towels are sometimes very hard to find. Again nice hotel and staff are friendly but definitely a few things need tiding up eg training etc .
