Tenerife offers a flavourful, diverse dining experience combining Spanish and Canarian traditions. A staple in Canarian cuisine, you must try Papas Arrugadas, small, wrinkled potatoes typically served with green mojo sauce (mojo verde) and red (mojo rojo). Take to the water, and book one of the many catamaran tours - you may see dolphins, whales, and turtles.

Tenerife hosts the 2nd largest carnival in the world (1st Rio) and is held in Santa Cruz, usually in February or early March.

Visit the town of Garachico in the north of the island with its historic centre and quaint main square.

Take the cable car to the top of Mount Tiede for lovely views across the island.
