Family holidays in Sardinia

A large island off the coast of Italy, Sardinia offers the best of Italian culture with a laid back, island twist. Enjoy the soft sandy beaches with plenty of opportunities to get little ones swimming or making the most of the water sports and activities on offer. Fussy children are sure to find something they love to eat, with pizza, pasta, gelato and lots more on the menu.

Where to go for your family holiday in Sardinia - Forte Village

Forte Village is a huge resort with a fantastic range of activities on offer for children and adults of all ages. It's one of the most popular choices for families holidaying in Sardinia. There is a choice of children's swimming pools, as well as a pristine private beach and restaurants serving up family friendly dishes throughout the day. Explore all 55 acres and you'll find a golf course, basketball courts and even a Chelsea Football Academy where world-class coaches will teach your little ones (or not so little ones) to play.

Children can enjoy their own separate area, with a Laguna pool, restaurant, a Fisher Price nursery and creative workshops including cooking and jewellery making. Head to the Barbie Village for some fun and adventure, or learn all sorts of tricks at the onsite Magic Academy. Teenagers are catered for as well with activities, games and a chance to meet new people on their holiday.

North Sardinia

The north of Sardinia boasts fantastic beaches while still offering you and your family culture and some peace and quiet away from the big resorts. On the northern-most point sits the town of Palau, where the coastline is a jagged place full of deep-set coves, petite beaches and granite islands. The most famous islands lie just opposite – the Archipelago di La Maddalena National Park, so there is plenty of activity for you and your family.

The town of Santa Teresa Gullara lies even further north than Palau and on clear days you can see the island of Corsica from the shores. With plenty of cafes and restaurants and days spent to rest, this is a fabulous location for a quiet family holiday.
