About the location
Playa d'en Bossa sits in a sun-drenched spot on Ibiza's south-east coast, around two miles outside Ibiza Town. A real crowd-pleaser, the resort's nightlife scene is an overflow from Ibiza Town, with a line up of swanky cocktail bars and exclusive beach clubs dotted along the waterfront. But by day, Playa d'en Bossa quietens down. There's a real family focus, with a stunner of a beach wrapped around the coast - think super-soft sand, smooth shoreline and a backdrop of palm trees. It's also fully equipped with a watersports centre, beachfront playgrounds and sun loungers where you can camp out all day. The picturesque shady waterfront has a sociable buzz from a string of souvenir shops, family-friendly restaurants and pubs.

We got a relatively good deal online for 5 nights in a gold suite and man, was it so worth it! The view alone in the morning from the 8th floor overlooking the western side of the beach was so stunning. Room was really clean and well stocked, cleaning times a bit sporadic though - had cleaners in at 11am and 5pm! The bed was crazy comfortable. Only gripe with the room given it is a 5 star with every available amenity, there isn???t a coffee machine. I think it would be a consideration for the hotel to make to add small Nespresso machines to the rooms! Staff were very helpful, nearly falling over themselves to help you. Gym also is decent. Be prepared to pay a lot for food and drink though, our room wasn???t ready so we strolled down to the beach bar for lunch, ???60 later for 2 small mains, a water and a mineral drink and I was still starving. Room service portions a lot bigger and better value!

I done quite a bit of research before I stayed in the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza as I know photos can be deceiving and the reviews were quite mixed which made me a little anxious about staying here. I have to say the hotel itself is very beautiful, the staff are constantly painting or cleaning random bits of the hotel which you wouldn???t even think about cleaning, the rooms are beautiful and we loved how the little night light on the balcony turns purple and looks amazing in the evenings.
There is a few things I would like to point out to anyone booking through a package holiday for example, Jet2holidays, Hard Rock Hotel states that a deposit of ???100 a night is required on arrival if you book through Hard Rock themselves, which will be refunded within 14 days of checkout. Me and my partner contacted Jet2holidays before arrival stating that we were not informed of this by Jet2holidays and will not be paying this due to the fact that we were not aware which is completely unfair - especially for a young couple ???100 a night is an extremely large number if your planning on staying between 7-10 days. Jet2holidays informed us that in the contract with Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza it states nothing regarding a deposit and therefore we would not have to pay. Once we arrived, Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza told us that without a deposit there would be no way we could stay in the hotel, luckily we got it sorted but for other young couples who aren???t prepared for this situation this could of been a lot more difficult to resolve.
The restaurants are hit and miss, the food from the 3rd half was disgusting I ordered a ceaser salad, the chicken which was battered tasted like mushrooms, the ceaser sauce tasted like salad cream and the toast was rock hard. My partner got the steak, asking for it to be cooked well done and it came out with blood running out of it. We got a coffee which was the size of a shot glass and a beer, all this came to the guts of ???50-60.
The Tatel restaurant is beautifully designed and always busy so the food must be decent, we chose to stay away from here as we thought it was a bit over priced.
We stayed in Hard Rock Hotel mid May, I had my birthday here in Ibiza and the hotel did not acknowledge my birthday at all - not that it is there responsibly to do so but from experience in other hotels (as every single year I go away for my birthday) I just think this isn???t worthy of being classed as a 5* as they are more about the money rather than the guests.
The entertainment- during my 7 night stay at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza there was absolutely no entertainment provided except a DJ at each pool which I wouldn???t call entertainment. The Ninth was closed until the opening parties start (how co-incidental) one member of staff told me it was because it wasn???t ready to be open to the public yet and another member of staff told me it was closed because of the weather yet the weather was amazing the whole week we spent in Ibiza. Hard Rock Hotel likes to inform everyone on how they throw the best pool parties, and i had read on one of their leaflets that the pool parties are supposed to be on every Saturday yet there wasn???t one pool party during our stay, no late night entertainment/ singers- nothing.
I also think the pools should be heated, I was in the pool once the entire time which isn???t like me simply because the pools were both so cold I think the main reason was due to being so close to the beach, there was a breeze most of the time so a heated pool would be a lot better.
Other than that, it was a brilliant hotel. The staff were nice and the room cleaners done a brilliant job, the bell boys were amazing help as-well.
I would recommend the spa & mainly the hydro therapy pool to anyone - absolutely AMAZING.
