Located in the luxurious resort of Illetas about 20 minutes from Palma, Bonsol is one of our loveliest hotels in Majorca. Owned and run by the Xamena family since the 1950s, Bonsol is a four-star favourite. The hotel is packed full of character which reflects the family’s sophisticated style - in fact, they describe it as “an overgrown family home”. Think exposed stone, wooden beams and personal touches that make Bonsol one of the most beautiful boutique hotels in Majorca.
There’s plenty to keep you busy at Bonsol. The hotel is spread over several buildings, so just exploring the surroundings can take up the best part of a day. Don’t worry though - Bonsol provide tours to help you familiarise yourself with your surroundings and there are many, many sunspots and cosy corners if you fancy a little rest. Find your way down to the three pools, various sundecks and restaurants (right on the water’s edge) before trying your hand at a bit of mini-golf or boules or complimentary yoga.
Set over lots of different levels, the hotel cascades down a sandy bay which culminates in an emerald sea. The little beach is just one of three in the immediate area, but as Bonsol is so well located for exploring the rest of Majorca’s coastline, the many charms of the island are all within easy reach. Stroll into the village’s little marina, jump on a boat and set sail for one of the most memorable holidays of your life.

The soft sandy beaches and crystalline turquoise waters make llletas close a vision of the Caribbean (minus the coconut trees) as you could imagine in Europe. Just 20 minutes from Palma, the genteel resort enjoys all the sophistication of the bigger city but with none of the hustle and bustle. Illestas (also known as Ses Illetes) became very popular in the 1970s and 80s with the international jet set, and, while not as sought after as some of the other nearby places, there is still a certain glossiness to the resort.
