Iberostar Selection Playa de Muro Village

Return visitors family of 4 with kids aged 8&13. Every year i give our favorite summer vacation hotel a review and this year i would like to continue the tradition. Pros: The place is small and has a premium feeling,especially the fact that you always have sun loungers and can sit without reservation in one of the restaurants. Food is the best you can find in hotels in Mallorca, and the quality is consistent through the years, and the variety is huge. Fish, shrimp, lobster, BBQ, steaks, soups ..you name it.. and the desserts are so delicious. Be prepared to add a few kilos to your weight here :) Service is excellent, we know most of the staff that have been here for years and are excellent in their jobs. Animation is very good but keep in mind that it is oriented to small kids age up to 10 You can use the amenities of the nest door 4 star Iberostar, where you have more activities aimed toward teens. Rooms are kept clean and are well furnished, also they keep on updating some small details and keeping all in good shape. Beach is amazing!!The best beach for young kids with clean shallow waters. Pools are clean and cool. Very nice mix of nationalities This one is very important for us, since we do not like to stay in hotels with one nationality and feel excluded in some way. The mix here is German, Swiss, Polish, Russian, Spanish and other nationalities. The hotel is working according to the Iberostar environmental guidelines and you will see amazing initiatives, to protect nature, all of which is created by the daughter of the owner and i cannot praise her policies enough. Cons: VALUE FOR MONEY We have been visiting for 10 years and we know exactly how the price of this hotel increased through the years, which is normal, BUT in 2024 something happened and the price of this hotel went through the roof, i mean really expensive for what you get, and if they increase more we are thinking of moving to other, at the end there is a limit to what you can charge for the same quality and quantity. Good to know before you visit: Do not visit if without children :) There is not much to do or visit around the hotel, just a few souvenir shops and a small town nearby. 1 hour drive from Airport Here all ends at 10:30, i mean ALL, they even turn lamps off:)so do not expect late parties. Special mention: The hotel is with a new Manager from 2024 and we were interested to see if anything will change but we feel that he is working hard to keep the quality and service! Aitor- hard working and always friendly Our special mention goes to Denis from guest relations, who goes the extra mile to assure all guests are having a wonderful vacation. Iberostar was exceptional from the moment we entered the lobby. We were met with smiles, champagne, chocolates and juice for our child while we waited for check in. We were given colour coded wrist bands for the all inclusive package which doubled as the room key. This is a fabulous idea. Not once were we asked for our room number to charge drinks or anything to - the staff already could see we had all inclusive and you never had to worry about forgetting the room key. The wrist bands are 100% waterproof. Brilliant idea. There is an app for the resort which includes daily activities with the kids club, shows, aqua aerobics timetables etc. There is an interactive map where you click on an area and it expands into more detail. There is a chat function on the app to book the bbq beachfront dinner (the only place you need to book on the day). Again, the app is a fabulous idea. The resort itself is immaculate. The gardens are maintained every day, the pool surroundings are hosed down every evening. The restaurants are just wow. The variety of food is incredible. We ate most meals in the beachfront restaurant. There is something very special about having a buffet breakfast overlooking the ocean. *Note, there are multiple sections of this resort and we stayed in the main building part. There is a burger restaurant too, which is also included with the all inclusive. Kids club was great, loads of activities each day and all through to the evening for discos etc. Big screen movies by the pool, stage shows (it was Frozen when we stayed). I could go on, but I'll leave some things for you to discover on your own. We only stayed for 4 days, but we were so relaxed day 1 that it felt like we had been there a week. Still, it wasn't long enough ;-) The staff.. It always says a lot about the resort based on the staff they have.. But every single staff member was exceptional. Always smiling, always happy to assist. Special mentions: Oscar, from the main pool bar. Thank you Oscar for making our stay so relaxing. It's lovely having someone so attentive always checking in to see if we needed snacks or drinks. Luis, our porter. He showed us how things work in our room which was a lovely touch.
