We stayed for a week in July and had the best time. We wanted a quiet chill out break with great food and service and this hotel did not disappoint. The decor is traditional, not super luxe as in some 5-star places, but we felt this added to the charm and authenticity we were looking for and overall felt the hotel was more than worthy of its five star rating. Our room was kept spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed and the hotel is so quiet at night we never heard a single noise to disturb us - first time ever! Rooms overlook the pool which is lovely and we were able to enjoy the entertainment from our balcony, purely because we prefer not to sit directly next to music wherever we stay and not to avoid the bar prices. We personally found the bar prices to be reasonable and had a pre-dinner drink each night and enjoyed a bottle of wine each evening with our meal which was of good quality and not overpriced. We have read mention of the bar prices being high but we did not find this to be the case and bar drinks were served with nuts and crisps to accompany which was lovely. If you are looking to drink lots of alcohol and very cheaply, probably better to stay at an all inclusive resort or one with a lower rating but we were happy to pay the prices. At lunch time the bar served meals and snacks but we never felt hungry enough after our very filling breakfast but saw plenty of people enjoying the food and drink there and it looked nice. We found the food to be of a very high standard with a lovely buffet. Apart from on the Gala and Menorcan evenings there was a buffet in addition to being served courses at the table. We noted someone as saying they felt they missed out on the buffet on the theme evenings but we did not feel this way at all as there were extra courses served at these meals and we wouldn't have had room for the buffet in addition, we were so full up. The food was creative, fresh and delicious and we felt the emphasis was on healthy satisfying eating not stuff all you can eat and drink as we've experienced at other placed and we preferred this. The staff were lovely, attentive and very helpful, one or two didn't have great English but apart from this, no problems. Pool area so peaceful and relaxing without any of the usual brash loud booming music and having to listen to people on mobiles all the time. We did have an email mid-stay asking if we were happy with everything and we did raise the question of why people were reserving sun beds when the hotel policy is not to do so and credit to the manager, this was addressed straightaway via letter to guest rooms asking for this not to happen or towels would be removed and people stopped doing it - not very often these days you are listened to and concerns acted upon so promptly, we were impressed by this. We did see the Manager quite often but are not people to actively seek out, chat to & shake hands with the management, there really is no need. We felt the Manager was totally in tune with what was going on but not in a full on way, more on a discreet level, which we prefer as there is no need to have the big show off welcome and constant strutting around and chatting to guests we have experienced in the past so don't agree with the poster who felt this was a failing, we didn't and of course if you are not happy with something during your stay you should say so while you are there rather than moan afterwards. People should do their homework before they book a hotel so they can be sure it will deliver what they are looking for and this hotel delivered exactly what we were looking for. The spa was a beautiful place. Had a couple of treatments and whilst not cheap were very professionally done and the staff were very attentive and wanted to make your experience perfect. We enjoyed the spa pool which was largely empty and this was so nice when you wanted a break from the sun. To summarise, we would definitely return to this hotel and that is the first time we have said that as usually we like to go somewhere different each year but this place is something special. We found the Reception Team to be very efficient as was the TUI Rep, a lovely lady and so helpful and friendly, a pleasure to chat with.
