Settings don’t get much prettier than at Santo Tomas. This handsome four-star hotel is situated mere footsteps from the lapping blue Mediterranean sea, hidden from sight by Menorca’s rocky headland. The hotel itself is found on one of the longest and most beautiful beaches on the island.
Water babies needn’t content themselves with just the sea though. Santo Tomas has a pretty swimming pool with plenty of comfortable loungers to while away the hours. This charming resort has a quiet, beachfront setting making it a top choice for guests who are looking for a chance to get away from it all. The vibe is peaceful and relaxed, great for families with young children who can run and explore the extensive, well-tended gardens. If you do want to sample a taste of the local town, then Santo Tomas village is very close by. Enjoy a plate of the island’s famous paella in one of the many restaurants that face the dreamy harbour.

The small, serene resort of Santo Tomas is home to two gorgeous, unspoilt beaches. This is a little village where relaxed, low key holidaying is the name of the game - there’s none of the hustle and bustle of neighbouring islands like Majorca. Moreover, Menorca is to poetry what the other Ballerics are to prose.
The whole island was declared a UNESCO international BioSphere in 1993. The accolade aims to preserve environmental areas, such as the Parc Natural S’Albufera des Grau wetlands, and its liberal sprinkling of mysterious Bronze Age sites. These are found on the other side of the island but are still only a 30-minute drive away. Hire a car, explore the site and get to know a bit of the island beyond the beach.
Located halfway up the island's south coast, the village of Santo Tomas itself is picture-perfect. Colourful boats bob serenely in the harbour and a handful of restaurants serve local and international inspired fare. Menorca’s compact capital, Mahon (or Maó, as it is known locally) is about a 30-minute drive, while the island’s other city, Ciutadella, is about 30-minutes in the other direction. It’s lots of fun to jump on a ferry to visit the other islands on day trips, so don’t hesitate to brush off your Spanish and explore the surrounding area.
