Life in the laid-back lane
Relaxation is the name of the game in Playa Paraiso, a postcard-perfect resort in southwestern Tenerife. With an unspoilt, off-the-beaten track appeal, Playa Paraiso is the place to soak up the local way of life along with the Canarian sunshine.
The hub of daytime activity is the attractive saltwater lido and small shingle beach, with the rocky coastline providing superb walks for nature lovers. If you’re craving some soft sand to nap on, it’s worth the 10-minute drive to nearby Costa Adeje, home to two Blue Flag beaches – including one with sand imported from the Sahara.
There's a cluster of tapas bars and restaurants to while away the evening in, or those looking for more vibrant nightlife can head to Playa de las Americas, just 10 minutes' drive away.

Transfer time from Tenerife South airport to Playa Paraiso is approximately 30 minutes.
Tenerife enjoys a classic Canarian climate: hot sunshine, all year round. You’ll get around 11 hours of sunshine a day throughout summer, which starts warming up around April and regularly pushes into the low 30s around July. Even in the off season, it’s unlikely to fall below the low-to-mid teens.
Currently visas are not required for UK citizens travelling to Spain.
Restaurant bills include a service charge by law in Spain, so whether you choose to tip further is up to you. If you enjoyed the meal and service, it is customary to leave 5-10%. Hotel porters and maids will appreciate a small tip, and while taxi drivers don’t require a tip, it’s common to round up the fare.
The official language of Spain is Spanish. English is widely spoken too, so getting by is easy.
