The the title says, this wasn't our first choice of hotels for our recent holiday. We had booked in the Sister Hotel - Gloria Verde, which we had been to a number of times. Unfortunately the Verde was closed due to the current climate and we were moved to the Gloria Serenity.
There was things I loved about this hotel, things I missed about the Verde and things I didn't like at all.
We had upgraded to a Garden Villa, it was nice enough. It was well maintained, kept spotlessly clean by the cleaning staff and had nice facilities. Negatives, There was no sun on the terrace at any time, meaning the lovely cushioned sun loungers were a waste of time, unlike the villas at the Verde, these villas do not come with a buggy, to be fair though a quick call to reception and they would send one. Sometimes a bit slower than others. The bathroom in the second bedroom had a shower over the bath which I don't really like. Again the second bathroom in the Verde is a walk in shower. I know is shouldn't but I just couldn't help comparing.
As villa guest were were able to use both the Serenity and the Golf's restaurants and bars, which was really nice. The restaurants in both these hotels are outstanding, couldn't complain about 1 meal in the 11 nights we stayed there. We ate lunch most days in the either the Italian or Route 66 again they were both excellent.
The staff did a fabulous job, given the circumstances. They wore masks 24/7 which couldn't have been easy in 40 degree heat. Covid has had an effect on all hotels. Its wasn't the same, but where is. The interaction wasn't as free as in previous years because of this, that's not to say that there was any problem with staff, definitely the opposite. Each and every member of staff gave 100% and I can honestly say we had wonderful service from each and every member of staff.
Now what I hated. I absolutely hated the pool set up. This is not like a pool like any other I have been to, its more like a moat that surrounds the hotel, definitely not for me. I also didn't like the entertainment. There was a show in the theater every 2nd night with maybe a band or something the other nights. Most were not great. One night it was someone playing a cello in the lounge another night it was someone playing piano...music to slit your wrist to. Again this could be because of the current situation.
Another disappointment was the indoor spa was closed. When asked why this was we were told this was because of the covid. The spa was opened in both the Voyage and the Calista, why did the Serenity need to close their spa.
There was quite a few staff members from the Verde that we knew from previous trips, which was really nice.
Overall we liked the hotel, but missed the intimacy and the personal touch of the Verde.

Obviously there are COVID 19 compromises, but the hotel minimises the impact on guests. The hotel and grounds are immaculate. Golf courses are very pretty and well maintained. Staff cannot do enough for you. The all inclusive has a very wide range of options of good quality food, drinks and alcohol. You will never be hungry or thirsty there. The rooms are spacious and housekeeping does a great job of keeping everything clean and fresh. From a personal taste perspective the furniture is a little dated, but nothing to worry anyone. Restaurants are all fantastic (Steakhouse in particular). Hard to fault the place.

It was our first ever vacation in Turkey. A lot of concerns before going, last minute booking (website payment system did not work, but managed thru the calls to the hotel). Great place, green and nice, great room - we had 2 BR very quite and well appointed, good service in general. Excellent general restaurant. Our expectations were exceeded and now we want to go back! But few things are clearly in a need of improvement, and this is the reason for my 4 star rating. A La cart restaurants - do not waste your time. All the fish you can get in the main place with less waiting, Steak place does not have anything outside of meat, but the most joke is French - no Fua gra, Cream Brulee is terrible. There is one wine list for the whole hotel - not a bottle of pino or any kind of red Burgundy!!! Even in this French place? So after two days of trying to find any, we stick with the free Turkish White...Seems to be good choice of international spirits in the bar, but the one I like they only found one shot in 8 days for a price. I was ready to pay, but no more...My advise would be to charge for Ala Cart, but make them more special. NO service on the beach - nobody is taking towels away, no drinks offer, nothing! Do your own all around. Finally, I went several times to exchange USD for smaller bills or to local currency. They never had it. And I was not alone - everyone were asking for money for the tips. Why management is penalizing its own people by denying them tips is outside of my understanding??? Clearly can be easy fix for this. Entertainment was OK for both kids and adults, but probably limited due to COVID. At the same time it was great to see clean buffet where measures have been taking. Much better than self serving - and should stay forever!

We visited the Serenity resort on week commencing 1st October and couldn't speak more highly enough about the facilities, restaurants, quality of service and cleanliness of the hotel and its surroundings. A great deal of thought has been put into their Covid-19 procedures and it was quite obvious that the safety of guests was paramount.
The food in the a la carte and self service restaurants was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough for you.
We stayed with friends in a pool-side villa, which was kept spotless by cleaning staff throughout our stay. The grounds of the resort, which are substantial, were maintained to a high standard and there's no doubt that we will be returning to the resort at a later date.

Beautiful hotel in stunning surroundings, this was a replacement for our silver wedding trip to Jamaica, cancelled due to COVID. We were very pleased when we arrived room as described swim up room, good and plentiful choices of food and drink. Staff very accommodating, friendly and helpful.
Thankfully not many kids at resort. (Jamaica was adults only)
Only criticism is the hair dryer is sub standard advise taking your own if you have long thick hair like me.
