Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel

Absolutely loved this hotel and its location. Facilities were brilliant. Very clean - both in bedrooms and in public areas. Staff friendly and helpful and spoke a variety of languages. Plenty of food choices at all mealtimes - the steak was beautiful every time and the best breakfast porridge! We had a large hotel suite with 2 bedroom areas and a large balcony. Biggest bathroom we’ve had in a hotel abroad as well as the large balcony! Beds were comfortable and the minibar was a lovely addition which was available when all inclusive. Sunbeds cannot be reserved before 10am and this makes a lovely relaxed start to the day. All pools were lovely to spend time in - we used to go to the slides for an hour late afternoon (we had an 8 and 12 year old) as found that was the best time to enjoy with the younger ones going for naps etc. Being able to use inflatables in the waterfall pool was good as well as lots of games of catch in the water! The top pool - salt water - is lovely for a relaxing float for a short time. No children in the jacuzzi and it’s nice there is somewhere for just adults. As for people complaining about no children there is a large sign in 4 languages by the jacuzzi so it’s not hard to read it and follow the rules!! We saw a few try to get away with it only for the lifeguard to point out the sign and request the children leave. We used the free bus service to the sister hotel to visit Fañabe beach and you can work to Puerto Colon for boat excursions/watersports. You can book a seat on the bus via reception and best time is to do this the day before as when we went to do it on the day it was fully booked. Taxis are readily available up the road outside the Hard Rock hotel and approx €15 to Fañabe beach. We did a 2 hour boat trip with Royal Delfin and were able to see dolphins and whales out in the Atlantic - well worth it and 2 hours was long enough. Plenty of other boat providers and length of trips to suit at Puerto Colon. We pre booked Siam Park tickets before leaving the UK and a taxi to there was approx €24. Get there in plenty of time to queue for fast track passes with the lockers. Use the fast track in the afternoon as you can only use them once per ride and the afternoon has the longest queues. We managed to do every slide but the tower of power (no one in our party wanted to!) this way. The only downside was the lack of information at check in. Our room wasn’t ready and that was fine but we were given a card to show we were all inclusive to access food/drink but no instructions were given as to where we would even go to get to the restaurant - we were advised to download their app and use that for anything. We’ve previously stayed with Iberostar who sit you down and talk you through everything - how to even use their app - and make sure you’re happy before you go on to start your holiday. This is an area I think Adrian Hoteles could work on to spend a few more minutes investing in the introduction to guests. Overall this was a lovely holiday and we would come back here quite happily.

Had a fabulous holiday here, facilities were faultless as was the service, staff and catering. The location was terrific with enough around to tap into if needed, we generally stayed in the hotel with it being so great. My son had a holiday he said he would always remember as he enjoyed it so much. Thank you Roca Nivaria Hotel
